paper to eATA Carnet

ATA Carnets are going digital from today, Monday 1st June 2026.

If you regularly move goods across borders, this is a really positive step forward. The eATA global transition begins today starting with UK, EU, Switzerland and Norway. All other countries in the ATA Carnet scheme are set to follow, with full global adoption expected by January 2028.

If you regularly move goods across borders, this is a really positive step forward as it means

  • Less reliance on paper
  • A smoother customs experience
  • Better visibility and control of your carnet
  • A clear move towards fully digital trade

Paper carnets aren’t going anywhere just yet, but this is definitely the direction of travel.

💡 For anyone working in events, broadcast, exhibitions, or moving professional equipment internationally, it’s a change worth being aware of.
