  • Ferries – Established in 2003, Freightlink is one of Europe’s largest, whole of market freight ferry agencies. We have achieved this through a complementary focus of delivering digitalisation and impeccable customer service
  • Freight forwarding – Freightlink Reload provides first class freight forwarding services throughout Europe by integrating with Freightlink’s freight ferry customers we can offer unrivalled access to hauliers throughout Europe

Do you have experience of sales in a transport/logistics freight forwarding/international trade industry and perhaps knowledge of customs processes?

Are you an excellent communicator with thorough understanding of the sales processes, displaying exceptional leadership and interpersonal qualities? Are you comfortable delivering presentations, develop sales and marketing strategies?

Do you thrive under the pressure, have resilient nature, excel with your persuasive sales and objection handling negotiation skills? Can you assimilate knowledge quickly and share it with our customers?

About the position

We are a B2B business, but we like to think that we do things that a B2C company does. We call it B2B2C. There’s no reason why customs clearance and ferry bookings services can’t have the online experience you have when booking holidays or buying tech!

As our strategy unfolds, we are looking to significantly increase the size our of our business. You will be instrumental in this growth by designing and implementing our European sales strategy for CustomsLink and Reload. Most of sales leads will be self-generated as we target medium to large blue-chip manufacturers, importers and exporters trading between UK – EU – UK. Whilst most customers will be GB based the remit will extend to the EU mainland when required.

In addition to this, you will hold responsibility for mobilizing other sales and marketing channels available within the group of companies. As a Stena Line owned business, there will also be an opportunity to offer our range of products and services throughout the Stena Line Network.

And what will you be doing?

  • Generating own sales, through phone sales and face to face sales visits
  • Maximizing established networks at every level.
  • Growing affiliate programme
  • Instigating large scale preferred supplier contracts with blue chips UK – EU – UK manufacturers
  • Updating pipeline and CRM systems
  • Developing new sales strategies with General Manager CustomsLink and Head of Reload
  • Roadmap the vision for sales within the business.
  • Work closely with Customs Tech team to develop I.T. based solutions which maximize digitalization opportunities with clients.
  • Ensure customers are kept appraised of all new platform developments
  • Pro-actively develop the sales channels from CustomsLink, Freightlink and Stena Line
  • Manage budgets and protect profit margins at all times whilst developing and maintaining new business flows.
  • Providing enthusiastic leadership to the teams within the group companies, leading to sales opportunities
  • Work closely with the marketing team to design and implement a targeted European sales campaign

What do you need to succeed?

To be successful in this role, you will need to be an independent self-starter with commitment to driving sales and deliver objectives even when difficult challenges are identified. You will demonstrate hight level of attention to detail, exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and customer service skills at all times. Your experience in a senior commercial/ sales role will give you the ability to overcome business obstacles and form long lasting productive relationships with blue chip clients whilst managing and navigating highly pressured environments.

What sets you apart?

Ideally at 2 least years’ experience of sales in a transport/logistics freight forwarding/international trade industry and your knowledge of customs processes, as these will be paramount to your success within this role.
